Scientific internship of undergraduates at the tashkent pharmaceutical institute

From 28.11.22 to 09.12.2022, 2nd-year undergraduates of the Department of «Pharmacognosy» Asan Baktybai, Omirbek Nurzhan, Torekhan Mereke, Abdikadyr Nazim completed a scientific internship at the «Tashkent Pharmaceutical Institute» and the «Scientific Center for Standardization of Medicines» within the framework of the memorandum between the South Kazakhstan Medical Academy and the Tashkent Pharmaceutical Institute «Organization of student exchange with foreign universities» program. The scientific internship is aimed at consolidating core competencies, increasing the level of scientific and professional training, qualifications and practical skills in the educational program «Pharmacy», increasing the cultural and general level of knowledge.

In accordance with the scientific internship plan, undergraduates completed the following works: familiarized with the database of the Tashkent Pharmaceutical Institute and discussed the internship program; biologically active substances (BAS) were isolated from medicinal plant raw materials; qualitative analysis by IR spectroscopy and thin-layer chromatography (TLC), quantitative analysis by physical-chemical methods. Among them, the amount of flavonoids in medicinal plant raw materials was determined by high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) and spectrophotometry (SF). Also, undergraduates received consultations with the teaching staff of the Department of Pharmacognosy on the basis of the dissertation topic.

During the entire period of the scientific internship, the head of the Department of Magistracy, PhD, associate professor Mukhitdinova K.Sh. provided support to undergraduates. In addition, the head of the Department of Pharmacognosy of the Tashkent Pharmaceutical Institute, N.T. Farmanova took part in holding events in accordance with the program of scientific internship. The scientific internship proved to be very effective and useful for further research activities.
