Binary lecture with an employer

An open binary lecture held with the employer of the «Zerde-Phyto» LLP for 3rd year students of the educational program 6B07201 «Technology of Pharmaceutical Production» on the discipline «Chemistry of Natural Medicinal Compounds» on the topic «Medicinal plants and medicinal plant raw materials containing flavonoids and their glycosides» on May 14, 2024 at the Department of Pharmacognosy, SKMA. The lecturers were PhD, Acting Professor Orynbassarova K.K. with the participation of a co-lecturer, leading specialist of the quality control service of «Zerde-Phyto» LLP Torekhanova N.M.

Orynbassarova K.K. presented complete material on the definition of flavonoids as a group of biologically active plant compounds, their classification, physical and chemical properties of various groups of flavonoids, the stage of production of flavonoids, qualitative and quantitative analysis of flavonoid-containing raw materials, and the chromatographic method for the determination of flavonoids. Distribution and biological role of flavonoids in the plant world.

Co-lecturer Torekhanova N.M. shared information about herbal preparations containing flavonoids, such as “Flamin”, “Arenarin”, “Tanacehol”, “Novoimain”, “Cardiovalen”, about their pharmacological properties; plants that have a pharmacological effect due to the content of flavonoids and used in medicine were also presented.

Students paid special attention to video clips showing the production of «Zerde-Phyto» LLP. So it was possible to clearly see such processes as: The process of grinding immortelle flowers, which contain flavonoids, on the Korsar-190 apparatus; Sifting calendula flowers on a vibrating sieve. Division into factions; Packing on a filtered batch machine; Packing on a multihead weigher.

At the end of the lecture, feedback provided in the form of a question and answer for students, thanks to which the knowledge gained during this lecture consolidated.
