International “round table” organized by WHO country office

Оn November 24-25, 2015 in Astana, WHO Country Office conducted an international “round table” on training of nursing personnel with higher education.

The “round” table was attended by experts of World Health Organization from Russia, Lithuania, Latvia; Director of the Department of Science and Human Resources of the Ministry of Health and Social Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan; representatives of medical universities and colleges of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan and Aizat Ashimkhanovna Seydakhmetova, the Head of the Department of Nursing with the course of Anesthesiology and Critical care medicine of SKSPhA.

Galina Perfiliyeva, program manager of Human Resources of Public Health of European WHO Regional Office, introduced the participants with the objectives and the expected results of “round table”.

During this event there were discussed the following issues: strategic directions for strengthening nursing in Europe; experience of  Lithuania, Latvia and Russia on the formation and implementation of the university educational program “Nursing”; experience of  Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan on the formation and implementation of the university educational program “Nursing”; key factors and conditions that promote and keep the development of nursing education in countries in the context of strategic directions of nursing development in Europe. There were discussed the issues of cooperation; there were held group discussions, SWOT-analysis, results of group work, possible ways of solving problematic issues related to the development and improvement of training and use of nursing personnel.
