World AIDS Day

On 1th December 2022, the Department of Infectious Diseases and Dermatovenerology hosted a Forum dedicated to the World AIDS Day, which was attended by cadets of the Faculty of Continuous Professional Development - doctors from all districts of the Turkestan region and the city of Shymkent.
The goal of World AIDS Day is to raise global awareness of HIV and AIDS and demonstrate international solidarity in the face of the pandemic. This day provides the most realistic opportunity to spread information about the status of the pandemic and to promote progress in the prevention and treatment of HIV and AIDS, as well as care for sick people in countries with a high prevalence of this disease and around the world.
As of 1thMarch, 2022, 47,075 cases of HIV infection were registered in the country, of which 2,542 were foreign citizens, 540 were anonymously examined, and 43,993 were Kazakhstanis. The main age group of people with HIV (90%) is aged 15 to 49 years.
The Forum featured reports on topical topics: the epidemiological situation of HIV/AIDS, modern methods of diagnosis, treatment and prevention of this pathology.Active participation in the Forum was attended by G.E. Turdymuratova, B.S. Markabayeva and G.T. Akhylbekova. Certificates were awarded for the best reports, participation in the quiz.
