Workshop “Surgical treatment of malignant liver tumors”

In April 2017 in Shymkent there is a workshop on “Surgical treatment of malignant liver tumors” with the assistance of public health department of South – Kazakhstan region. The workshop was organized by South- Kazakhstan State Pharmaceutical Academy and a regional oncologic dispensary.

SKSPhA pays a great attention to the issues of retraining and advanced training of doctors, taking into account modern requirements, as well as taking extensive actions on the implementation of highly specialized medical care in medical institutions of South- Kazakhstan region, especially in rapidly developing medical specialties such as oncology, cardiology, cardiosurgery, obstetrics and gynecology, radiology.

Currently, there is an increase in the incidence of liver cancer worldwide, up to 900 new cases of liver cancer are detected in Kazakhstan every year, of which 100-110 new cases occur in South –Kazakhstan region. It is very important to make an early diagnosis of liver cancer at the level of PHC. 

The following leading hepatologists of East Asia were invited to conduct workshop - Jigjidsuren Chinburen, the director of National Cancer Center of Mongolia, the surgeon-hepatologist, Professor and his colleagues - Rentsenbalbar Ganbaatar, Gurbadam Unenbat, Nokhojav Khurel- Ochir, Batmunkh Erdenbulgan. Within this master class there were made 6 operations and 20 consultations of patients with liver tumors. There was formed a multidisciplinary group of doctors to determine treatment and modality for patients with liver cancer.
