Training seminar on the topic: “Gambling mania is a disease of modern society”

As is known, the head of state Kassym-Jomart Tokayev noted at the National Kurultai in Turkestan that the issues of drug addiction and gambling addiction among young people are currently relevant. This social disease is destroying many families and putting young people in difficult situations. The results of the study showed that every fifth of young people in the country aged 14 to 28 years suffer from gambling addiction (17.8%). At the department of “History of Kazakhstan and social and social disciplines” a training seminar was held among 1st year students of the medical and pharmaceutical faculties on the topic: “Gludomania is a disease of modern society” on the implementation of the “Salauatty Omir Salty” project. The training seminar was held with the participation of a doctor, psychiatrist and narcologist at the “Mental Health Center” Odaman M.S., who made a meaningful presentation in which she presented in detail the characteristics, features of gambling addiction, the negative aspects of gambling addiction (gambling addiction), which lead a person to a harmful gambling addiction , and also gave examples.
The purpose of the training seminar: to develop skills of responsible behavior in favor of one’s health, to promote students’ awareness of their values. It was discussed: what is Gambling Mania and the stages of its development, as well as from what moment does addiction arise and what symptoms does a person with a gambling addiction exhibit.
At the end of the training, students shared their impressions of the information received and told what conclusions they had drawn for themselves, and received answers to all their questions on this topic.
