Training for the teaching staff of SKSPhA “Current issues of evidence – based medicine”
From November 2nd to 4th, 2016 the department of evidence – based medicine held a training seminar “Current issues of evidence-based medicine” to implement the achievements of modern science and health service in educational programmes based on the principles of evidence-based medicine, monitoring of clinical minutes, increasing the capacity opportunities of the teaching staff of SKSPhA. The training was organized for the teaching staff of clinical departments, the total number of trainees - 20 people. The trainers were K.Y. Akhmadiyeva, a Candidate of Medical Sciences; L.T. Kasayeva, a Candidate of Medical Sciences; D.M. Mamytova, a specialist of multimedia library. The training took place in Computer Testing and Information Center of SKSPhA (room № 221).
During this training seminar we have set the following tasks: to familiarize students with the latest achievements of world medicine, research methods in EBM, formulation of clinical questions on PICO method, critical analysis of the quality of scientific articles, analysis of clinical practice guidelines on AGREE questionnaire; we carry out a testing on the proposed material according to MCQ tests at the end of the training seminar, we teach how to find changes in domestic and foreign recommendations by yourself, making search and analysis of the articles quality in electronic resources, to adapt and apply the data in your practice and in the treatment of definite patients. Practical classes are conducted online, including a search for articles, research studies and clinical practice guidelines on the web sites: www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov, www.cochrane.org.
There was conducted a questionnaire for the trainees to improve the teaching methods of evidence-based medicine, they were allowed to fill in their questionnaire anonymously, only specifying the questionnaire date. Nowadays, the total number of analyzed questionnaires is 20.
The final evaluation of the training showed a significant increase in the knowledge of trainees. They were awarded certificates.
