Topical issues of sanitary and epidemiological control over AIDS

On December 1, the Department of Hygiene and Epidemiology held a conference "Topical issues of sanitary and epidemiological control over AIDS", dedicated to the World AIDS Day - December 1. The teaching staff of the department, the director of the Shymkent Medical College, Master of Medical Sciences Abishev G. M. were invited to the conference, and 3rd and 5th year students studying under the educational program "General Medicine" also took part. The conference was opened by the head of the department, acting Associate Professor P.D. Utepov, who spoke about the epidemiological situation of HIV infection and AIDS today in the world and Kazakhstan. Then the director of Shymkent Medical College, Master of Medical Sciences G. M. Abishev spoke. He noted the importance of the sanitary and epidemiological control service in the epidemiological surveillance of AIDS, and also wished good luck to the participants of the conference.
At the conference, 5th year students made presentations on the following topics:
1) students of the ZHMKB-03-18 group: Temir Nurila, Rysbakova Sevara – "The history of HIV infection. Etiology, epidemiology of HIV infection and AIDS"; Satybaldy Arman - "Clinical manifestations of HIV/AIDS" - scientific supervisor, senior lecturer Nuralieva G. N.;
2) students of the ZHMKA-03-18 group: Yerkinbai Mukhamedali – "HIV infection statistics"; Rysbek Zhanat - "AIDS Epidemic of the XXI century" - scientific supervisor, acting associate Professor S.U. Eskerova.;
3) students of the ZHMKB-04-18 group: Egemberdy Dinara – "Specific prevention of HIV infection"; Ikrash Ansat-"Non-specific measures carried out in the focus of AIDS patients. Prevention of opportunistic infections" - scientific supervisor, Acting Associate Professor P. D. Utepov;
4) students of the ZHMKA-04-18 group: Babazhan Ulpan – "Nonspecific prevention of HIV infection"; Otarbayeva Darina – "Specific prevention of AIDS" - scientific supervisor, acting associate professor P. D. Utepov.

During the hearing of the reports, the students fully analyzed the epidemiology, statistics, etiology of HIV infection and AIDS, the composition of risk groups, pathogenesis, clinical manifestations, diagnosis, treatment, nonspecific and specific preventive measures with the provision of scientific data.
At the end of the conference, the head of the department, P. D. Utepov, urged graduates to use their knowledge in the future and contribute to the protection of public health.
