Thanksgiving Day

When is Thanksgiving Day celebrated in Kazakhstan? This holiday, coinciding with the first day of spring, has been celebrated since 2016. Thanksgiving Day is a reflection of the historical events experienced by Kazakhstan over the past hundred years, a new holiday in Kazakhstan in which the foundations of the tradition of its celebration are just being laid. However, this holiday reflects the culture and spiritual values of each ethnic group which today constitute the integrity of our country.

At the South Kazakhstan Medical Academy, Thanksgiving day was widely celebrated, several departments held events together with students, among actively participating departments: departments of Kazakh, russian and latin languages, history of Kazakhstan and social and human sciences, engineering sciences, medical biophysics and information technology.

Among these departments, at the department of Kazakh, Russian and Latin languages, an essay competition was held on the topic «Worthy Kazakhstan - a honest citizen». The purpose of this event was:
- loyalty to the Motherland, family, common sense and morality;
- success and respect for a person who works honestly and earns honestly;
- no corruption, decision-making in the interests of the country, and other similar topics were given special attention.

In addition, students of the Department of History of Kazakhstan and Social and Humanitarian Sciences performed kui «Adai» in memory of the wealth and spirit of our vast land using the sacred instrument of our ancestors - dombra. Students of the Department of Social and Human Sciences performed the “Bukharian Dance” of Uzbek people with a unique rhythm.

The proverb says, “A point of cohesion is good”, thus introducing their culture and expressing a symbol of friendship, foreign students of the Faculty of Engineering did not stand aside and took part in the event, performing in Kazakh language along with Kazak students and also impressively performed the famous Kazakh dance “Kara-Jorga”, including Indian students of the Department of Medical Biophysics and Information Technology, expressed warm wishes to the academy and sang a song about kindness in their national languages.

Foreign students of the Faculty of History and Social Sciences of Kazakhstan performed their traditional Indian dance, amazing the entire audience. The event was held at a high level.
The number of students covered is 500.
