STUDENT OF THE MEDICAL UNIVERSITY OF ASTANA IN KASKASU

From May 31 to June 4, 2023, as part of academic mobility in the discipline "Pharmacognosy", the 4th-year students of NJSC "Medical University Astana", of the educational program "Pharmacy" together with the practical supervisors of the leading department, associate professor, candidate of science Atimtaikyzy A. and teacher of the department Iztleu N.S. undergo practical training at the educational and professional base for cultivation, collection and processing of medicinal plants, located in the village of Keregetas, Tolebi district, Kaskasu.

Before the beginning of practical training, students got acquainted with the safety technique of carrying out work in field conditions. They received daily assignments and studied methodical work.
Students of the 3rd year of the educational program "Pharmacy" of the South-Kazakhstan Medical Academy, undergoing production practice together with the teachers of the department of Pharmacognosy, conducted a familiarization tour of the surroundings.

The guests were introduced to the floral composition of the local vegetation, the students jointly collected raw materials of various morphological groups (leaves, herb, flowers, underground organs, fruits, seeds, barks) taking into account the rational use of resources, carried out primary processing and drying, as well as herbalization of medicinal plant raw materials.

During the practice, methods were used to determine the reserves of wild-growing medicinal plants of this region, for example herbaceous, woody and shrubby plants. The students took a scientific approach to the protection and rational use of natural plant resources of Kazakhstan.

Students of the Astana Medical University were impressed by the rich raw material base of the region and expressed their gratitude to the heads of the JSC SKMA and the Management of Academy.
