Strategic partnership in action

As part of the strategic partnership SKSPhA faculty participated at the XXIV scientific conference on Pharmaceutical Science, organized at Medical University (MUG, Poland) of Gdansk.

The first day of the conference was dedicated to the 70thanniversary of the famous scientist in the field of pharmaceutical science and education - R. Kalishan. Congratulations of celebrator were combined with scientific reports of known scientists, his colleagues and students from different countries and Universities of Poland. On behalf of management and staff of SKSPhA - one of the strategic partners of MUG, a congratulatory word was said by B.K. Nurmashev - vice-rector for scientific and clinical work.

About 30 oral presentations were listened at the plenary session on the second day of the conference. Two breakout sessions presented more 50 electronic posters. The interest of the audience was caused by reports of Prof. A. Patsayev- “Problems of research and rational use of medicinal plants in Kazakhstan”, Prof.  S. Ordabayeva - “Creation of herbal remedies based on plant raw materials of South Kazakhstan” (e-poster), PhD (in pharmaceutical sciences) V. Korotkov - “The development and standardization of new medicinal products based on Maclura pomifera”. 

At the moment, in the framework of the academic mobility, the 4th year students of pharmaceutical faculty of SKSPhA are studying at MUG. It is pleasant to see the satisfaction of the Polish teachers by the performance shown by the students of the Academy.

The delegation also visited the Department of Microbiology, Molecular Biology, Pharmacognosy, Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Biopharmaceutics and Pharmacodynamics of drugs, as well as the university clinic and the MCM-hospital pharmacy at the clinic. They discussed questions and outlined plans for the future partnership between the departments.

Teaching staff are grateful to the administration of the Academy for the opportunity to exchange scientific interests and opinions in the field of pharmaceutical science and education, as well as the organizers of the conference in the person of Michal Markuszewski, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy of MUG, for hosting the conference at a high level and a warm welcome.
