SCIENCE AS AN ENGINE OF PROGRESS
On April 12 in Kazakhstan, representatives of the scientific community celebrate their professional holiday - Science Workers' Day. The date of the celebration was not chosen by chance. This day is associated with the birthday of the person who stood at the origins of the organization of scientific activity in Kazakhstan. We are talking about academician K.I. Satpayev - the first President of the Academy of Sciences of the Kazakh SSR, who headed it in 1946. Congratulations on this day are heard not only among colleagues at the Academy, institute, university or research institute, but also come from abroad. After all, science not only guards state interests, but also helps solve many global problems of the modern world.
As part of the Science Day, organized jointly by the South Kazakhstan Medical Academy and the Kazakhstan Medical University "GSPH", the II International Scientific and Practical Conference of Young Scientists "Science and Youth: Conference on the Quality of Medical Care and Medical Literacy" was held. This event has become a significant platform for the exchange of knowledge and experience between young researchers in the field of medicine.
Master's student of the department Nursultankyzy Moldir presented her report on a current topic: “Determination of sulfamethoxazole in waste and surface waters of Shymkent.” Having carefully studied the content of the report, the jury members appreciated the depth of the research and its practical significance, awarding Nursultankyzy M. an honorable first place in the sectional meeting.
As a reward, Nursultankyzy M. received a diploma and certificate, personally presented to her by the rector of the South Kazakhstan Medical Academy, M.M. Rysbekov. This achievement was a clear testament not only to her talent and determination, but also to the high level of training provided by the Academy.
As part of the large-scale event “Spectrum: a week of research and news”, which took place from April 12 to 17, a competition “Scientific activity of my department” was organized within the Academy’s walls. The purpose of this event was to stimulate research activities of employees and students, as well as to popularize the scientific achievements of various departments.
The competition was attended by 15 teams formed from Academy employees, doctoral students, master's students and members of student scientific circles. The format of the competition included two stages: a video competition, where it was required to present the achievements of the department in video format, and a quiz that tested the participants’ knowledge in the field of history, structure and scientific activities of the department.
The Department of Pharmaceutical and Toxicological Chemistry was represented by the Meta-Pharm team, which included:
• first year doctoral student, teacher Musabekov Zh.T.
• 4th-5th year students of the specialty "Pharmacy": Nezvanova E., Rakhmanova D., Yan K. and Shaltayeva D.
Having demonstrated well-coordinated work and deep knowledge, the Meta-Pharm team took an honorable third place in the team competition. As a reward, the team received a diploma, certificates for participation and valuable prizes.
This achievement became a clear evidence of the active scientific activity of the Department of Pharmaceutical and Toxicological Chemistry, as well as fruitful cooperation between teachers and students.
Also, the department, together with colleagues from the Center for Pharmaceutical Analytics (Moscow, Russian Federation), held a forum dedicated to Science Day in the Republic of Kazakhstan. This forum highlighted current issues of bioanalytical research in the process of drug development and registration.
Colleagues from the CPhA made presentations, highlighting the theoretical and practical components, and also shared their experience in the Center’s research activities.
The forum aroused great interest among the participants, as evidenced by the large number of questions and the active participation of students from the EP “Pharmacy” and “Pharmaceutical Production Technology”.
We express our sincere gratitude to the General Director of the Center, Professor I. E. Shokhin, Director of the Research Center T. N. Komarov, as well as all participants of the forum - employees of the Center: Bagaeva N. S., Archakova O. A., Karnakova P. K., Karpova P. A., Polova M. O., Bulakh E. A., as well as the head of the Center for Experimental Pharmacology of the St. Petersburg Chemical and Pharmaceutical University, Professor Ivkin D. Yu., for their joint work.
