Round table on the topic: "Topical issues of statin use in clinical practice"

On December 22, 2017 the Department of Pharmacology, Pharmacotherapy and Clinical Pharmacology and the Department of Evidence-Based Medicine conducted a round table on the topic: "Topical issues of the use of statins in clinical practice." In the work of the round table took part the clinical departments of SKSPhA: G.N. Dosbayeva, PhD (Doctor of Medicine), Head of the Department of Doctors of General Practice -2; N.V. Yugay, candidate of medical sciences (PhD), associate professor, head of department of Primary Health Care-1 and leaders, a specialist in practical public health: Z.I. Ormakhanova, head of the infarction department of the regional cardiology center; G.M. Seitzhanova, the head of department of Cardiology Department of the Regional Cardiology Center; B.S. Serikova, staff cardiologist of the city polyclinic №1. The round table was held with the participation of undergraduates, interns, residents, students and the teaching staff of SKSPhA.

         The round table was focused on topical issues of lipid-lowering therapy, scientific achievements in the field of treatment, the possibilities for optimizing therapy, and the peculiarities of therapy in patients with co-morbid pathology.

        The main purpose of the round table was to discuss modern aspects of statin therapy, which should promote the development of highly qualified medical care in the region and determine the ways for further cooperation between academic and practical organizations in the area of improving medical care in South Kazakhstan.

The participants of the round table expressed their solidarity and support to state measures aimed at improving the quality of life of the population as a whole.
