On the important problem once again…
On November 6, 2015 the employees of Youth Center of Health and hostel of SKSPhA organized an interview meeting with students and internship doctors on the theme “Prevention of infectious diseases (HIV, viral hepatitis and sexually transmitted infections)”.
In recent years, the number of injecting drug users is increasing in Kazakhstan, most of them are young people. Among registered HIV cases there are 74% of injecting drug users.
Another important problem of modern medicine is the problem of viral hepatitis, the solution of which is of great importance for the entire human society.
In the past decades, the number of parenteral hepatitis B and C among young people increased.
Nowadays, the problem of chronic hepatitis and as a result, cirrhosis and liver cancer progress has a great importance.
Therefore, we organized this event. The goal of this meeting was to remind young people about the importance of preventive measures, thereby refreshing and enlarging the knowledge about types and methods of these diseases prevention. Therefore, in the discussion of this topic there was the main task of a thorough problem analysis of preventing infections mentioned above by an interactive discussion. Actively participating in the conversation, students asked their questions and managed to identify actual topics in future, such as “Early clinical symptoms of sexually transmitted infections”, “Pregnancy planning” and “Risk factors of cancer pathology”. It is necessary to mention that the majority of students demonstrated the awareness and competence in discussed questions.
We sincerely hope that this meeting will improve the vigilance and awareness of young people on this problem which they will apply for the promotion of a healthy lifestyle, as well as for their future career.
Thus, HIV/AIDS, viral hepatitis and sexually transmitted infections remain urgent, requiring the attention of health workers, executive power workers, informing the public about infection ways and methods of protection, prevention of infectious diseases and promoting a healthy lifestyle.
