Olympics "We are surrounded by microorganisms, we are armed with microorganisms"

On May 17, 2019, the first stage of the Olympiad “We are Surrounded by Microorganisms” among the 2nd year students of the General Medicine course in the field of Microbiology and Immunology with the participation of 19 students was held at the Microbiology Department of the South Kazakhstan Medical Academy.

The first stage of the competition was held in 2 steps. The dean of the medical faculty - Doltaeva B.Z., the deputy dean of the medical faculty – Bergalieva R.N., the associate professor of the department of infectious diseases and dermatology and venereology, attended. - Berdalieva F.A. and Nuraliyeva G.N., Senior Lecturer, Department of Hygiene and Epidemiology Head of the Department of Microbiology, MD, Professor Seythanova B.T. wished good luck to the students. In the first step, students responded in writing to 9 assignments. Twelve students who had a high score went to the second stage.

In the second step of the first stage, students were able to identify and describe the pathogenic microorganisms found under a microscope in an educational laboratory. The first stage of the competition was full of contradictions. Students demonstrated their knowledge of the subject at a high level. According to the results of the first stage, 12 students went to stage II. Phase II of the Olympiad is scheduled for June 3, 2019. At this stage, students will demonstrate creativity in the subject.
