October 25 - Republic Day

33 years ago, on October 25, 1990, after many difficult events that happened to the Kazakh people, the Supreme Council of the Kazakh SSR adopted the Declaration of State Sovereignty. The Declaration of State Sovereignty of Kazakhstan became the first legal act of the republic, which became the basis of the Constitution of our country.
Our President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, emphasizing the historical significance of the holiday and declaring the need for its revival, signed a law on September 29, 2022 restoring its status as a public holiday. At the first meeting of the National Congress, held in Ulytau, it was proposed to make a number of changes to the list of national holidays and special days and return Republic Day to the status of a national and state holiday. Therefore, Independence Day will be celebrated every year on October 25 as the main holiday of the country. October 25, when an important step was taken towards the creation of a free country, will again be remembered as Republic Day. The day when an important step for the state was taken did not remain in the depths of history, but became a national holiday that is honored by all Kazakhstanis. On the occasion of October 25 - Republic Day - a festive event was held with the participation of 1-2 year students, organized by teachers of the department “History of Kazakhstan and social and social disciplines” and “Social and humanitarian disciplines”.
The purpose of the festive event is to instill in students the value of patriotism and respect for their native country, the Motherland; explain the importance of Republic Day; patriotism is about instilling values.
The students started the event with the national anthem of the Republic of Kazakhstan. A congratulatory speech was made by the head of the department of “History of Kazakhstan and social disciplines” Zh.O. Nurzhanbayeva and the head of the department of “Social and humanitarian disciplines” Sh.A. Ashirov, associate professor of the department S.M. Sakhov emphasized the value and historical significance of the national holiday.

At the festive event, talented students performed patriotic songs, dances and kuis. At the end of the event, teachers of the department discussed the national status of Republic Day in their classes and noted that this significant day had an important historical role in the development of the country as a democratic, legal state.
To increase patriotism among today's Kazakh youth, it is important to strengthen their love of history. Likewise, it is our duty to increase our respect for the nation, our enthusiasm for education and science and to renew our consciousness on Republic Day.
