“Nursing – yesterday, today, tomorrow”

On February 12, 2016 at the regional center of hyperbaric oxygenation named after T. Orynbayev the Department “Nursing with a course of Anesthesiology and Critical care medicine” conducted a seminar on the theme: “Nursing - yesterday, today, tomorrow”. This seminar was visited by doctors, a principal chief nurse B.T. Tursinbayeva, head nurses, nurses of center units, teaching staff of the Department, undergraduates.

Moderators: Associate Professor Aizat Ashimkhanovna Seydakhmetova, the Head of the Department; Nurlan Zhumanovich Kalmenov, a deputy principal.

The goal of the seminar: to introduce the Integrated development plan of nursing in the Republic of Kazakhstan, to implement the Highway route map for modernization of nursing education system of Kazakhstan for 2016-2019.

There were discussed issues of nursing development, implementation of a new principle of nursing service organizing in the Republic of Kazakhstan, the main directions of nursing service development, improvement of nursing personnel management system in accordance with the best international practice. The changes such as strengthening the role of nurses, delegation of a number of medical functions, greater independence and authority, implementation of new competences and roles of nursing professionals in public health service, aroused a great interest among the participants.

Nurses were interested in the issues of higher nursing education in Kazakhstan and abroad, the magistracy entrance. There was presented the information on the pilot project of applied bachelor’s degree in nursing, institutional development of medical colleges, improvement of educational training programs of nursing specialists.
