New Ideas – New Implementations

Pearson ESL Week in Kazakhstan started on November 24, 2015 in Shymkent. Interpress, Almaty organized workshops for English teachers of universities and schools to be held during the week in all huge cities of the country. The workshop includes a series of presentations on innovative methods of teaching the English language:

1. “Adding Sparkle to your Primary Classroom”, 

2. “Get to Grips with Grammar - Approaches and Activities to Take Away and use, Tomorrow”,

3. “There's more to it than the Present Perfect - Creating a Meaningful Tertiary Classroom”.

Robert Dean applied all his professional skills, based on many years of experience as a teacher of English as a foreign language in many countries, in order to demonstrate the effectiveness of developed educational material for its successful mastering and consolidation in practical classes. Robert Dean is currently working exclusively with Pearson (British Multinational Publishing and Education Company) as an international teacher trainer and academic consultant who conducts workshops, seminars and webinars for English language teachers around the world.

Such senior teachers of the foreign languages department, S.A. Korolevskaya, F.T. Ybyray, A.Ye. Smatova and A.S. Daulbaev had an opportunity to take an active part in that seminar in order to further implementation of creative approaches and methods in the learning process.

From the first minutes of the seminar, the audience was involved in an atmosphere of mutual understanding and contact with the lecturer. Questions of productive teaching of English are of concern  not only for Kazakhstan linguists, therefore to meet these challenges - to master the English language at the level of the mother tongue – many language experts from English-speaking countries were involved. Robert Dean proposed technologies and methods, based on teaching and learning material (text, video, audio) of modern English language to  allow the  diversification and acceleration of the process of mastering the English language with an emphasis on the development of the language competences of students.
