“Multilingualism is my science”

Regional scientific-practical student conference “Language competence as an indicator of high professional health environment” was held at the Department of Kazakh, Russian and Latin languages on April 29, 2016. Such conferences aimed at the  development of students’ language competence has been held at the Department not for the first time. Students prepared interesting reports with presentations by which they shared their knowledge of languages. There were offered interesting information on the ethics and culture of speech, medical terminology, metaphors in medicine, the role of multilingualism in pharmacy. A particular attention was drawn to the influence of books on the development of society. Students actively reacted to the information on youth slang and its features. After all, youth slang is an indicator of the development of society as a whole. The theme of humanity was reflected in a philosophical poem.

The reports on the themes “Using modern medical terms” and “Description of medicinal plants” highlighted the problem of medical terms. In general, these activities encourage students to scientific and cognitive activity, which is reflected positively in scientific knowledge of the world.

Young scientists were awarded certificates for active participation in the conference.
