Meeting Day - Renewal Holiday

On March 14, 2024, the Department of Engineering Disciplines organized the event “Korisu kuni-Amal merekesi” according to the plan for expanding the celebration of the Nauryz holiday approved by the rector of SKMA.
March 14 - Korisu kuni. Popularly, this day is also called the Amal holiday, translated from the Kazakh language literally means “Revival (renewal).” On this day, people forgive past grievances and wish each other well-being. On visiting day, the younger ones visit the elder's house.
According to the Eastern calendar, the beginning of March is considered the first star of the month Hamal (Amal). What we call hamal is the ancient Persian name for the constellation Aries. The concept has developed that at the moment of the equinox of the sun and night and the entrance of Amal, the constellation Aries is born. The word "March" means "New Day". In ancient times, this day was called “Amal” instead of “Nauryz”, but to be precise, these words do not differ from each other. According to today's calendar, this day is celebrated on March 14th. When people see each other, they say wishes such as “Happy New Age”, “Prosperity and success this year”, “May the new age give a lot of useful things”. On this day, it is not customary to be offended or remember past old grievances and anger. All bad memories are erased and forgiven.
In connection with such a wonderful holiday, the teaching staff of the department congratulated each other, greeted each other with warm words, and wished them health, peace and prosperity.
Congratulations on the holiday of peace and goodness, Happy Meeting Day! Peace to your home!
