«May 12 International Nurses Day»

On May 17, 2024, the departments of «Nursing-1» and «Nursing-2» organized an event dedicated to the «May 12th International Day of the Nurse» at the medical college at JSC «SKMA». The event was attended by representatives of medical institutions of the city of Shymkent: «City Clinical Hospital №1», «City Hospital №2, «Regional Clinical Hospital», «City Polyclinic №3», Medical Center «Alua-Med», «Shymkent Cardiology Center», as well as chief and senior nurses of the medical center «Er-Ana», teachers and students of the medical college.

At the event, the head of the Department of «Nursing-1» Serikova B.D. made a presentation on the topic: «Development of the system of training nursing specialists», which implements at the medical college a roadmap for the implementation of the project «triad of education, science and practice in nursing», nursing education of a new formation in the system and content on the training of applied bachelor's degree specialists, the implementation of the educational program of applied bachelor's degree by a qualified workforce of nurses.

Also, famous stars of Kazakhstan sent their good wishes in the form of congratulations on the Day of the nurse. Conversations were held between students and nurses. The nurses were asked questions and received interesting answers from the students, how they cope with stress at work and in which medical publications they are subscribed, as well as how they give priority to their work.

The heads of the base highly appreciated the high theoretical knowledge, practical skills, high responsibility and exemplary discipline of the students of the specialty «Nursing» who completed the internship, and expressed suggestions and opinions in order to improve the quality of students' knowledge in the direction of the following practices.

At the end of the event, the director of the Medical College at JSC «SKMA», A.M. Kushkarova, congratulated the nurses on their professional holiday - the International Day of the Nurse and awarded the nurses with a letter of thanks.
