MASTER'S SCIENTIFIC INTERNSHIP ON THE BASE OF SECHENOV UNIVERSITY
As part of the agreement on a joint educational program at the master’s level between the South Kazakhstan Medical Academy (Shymkent) and the First Moscow State Medical University named by I. M. Sechenov (Sechenov University), master's degree student of the 2nd year in "Pharmaceutical Ecology" Nursultankyzy Moldir underwent a scientific internship at Sechenov University.
In accordance with the scientific internship plan, the master's student got acquainted with the departments of Sechenov University under the leadership of Deputy. Director of the Institute of Pharmacy named after. A.P. Nelyubin based on the scientific work of Stepanova M.Yu.
In accordance with the scientific internship program, Nursultankyzy M. conducted experimental research on the topic of her dissertation work:
• development of methods for sample preparation of water samples using the liquid-liquid extraction method;
• development of high-performance liquid chromatography techniques for analyzing water samples with subsequent validation;
• research of the quality of water taken from drainage systems and reservoirs of Shymkent for the content of residues of medicinal substances, etc.
According to the approved scientific internship plan, the undergraduate took part in:
• scientific and practical conference with international participation “Pharmacy Week”, dedicated to the memory of Academician of the Russian Academy of Medical Sciences A.P. Arzamastseva.;
• sectional meeting “Organization of sanitary, hygienic and environmental control at each stage of the life cycle of a medicinal product as part of the development strategy of the pharmaceutical industry until 2030”;
• sectional session “Practical experience in the application of filtration, water treatment and wastewater treatment technologies in pharmaceutical production.”
Also, as part of the internship program, the master’s student successfully delivered a report at a scientific and practical conference with international participation “Pharmacy Week” on the topic “Determination of medicinal substances in wastewater of the city of Shymkent using UHPLC” and was nominated for a 1st degree diploma.
I got acquainted with the work of the Pharma-Premium center, where the head of the center Melnik E.V., Ph.D., gave a tour of the VR laboratory, a training center for practical skills, and a site for pilot laboratory production of original medicines and cosmeceuticals.
Under the leadership of Associate Professor Melnikov E.S. got acquainted with the research areas of the Department of Pharmaceutical and Toxicological Chemistry named by A.P. Arzamastsev.
A scientific internship involves targeted activities aimed at strengthening and expanding fundamental competencies, increasing the level of scientific and professional qualifications, as well as developing practical skills related to this program.
The cultural program was rich and exciting with visits to significant historical and cultural places: Red Square, VDNH - Pavilion of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the city of Zvenigorod, where unique historical sites are located (Cathedral of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Alexander Nevsky Temple, Cathedral of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary). I visited the Zvenigorod Manege, where the exhibition “Around Levitan” was held, an exhibition of paintings by Nicholas Roerich in the New Tretyakov Gallery, the Tsaritsyno Museum-Reserve, etc. Visiting such places contributes to deep immersion in the cultural environment and allows everyone to realize the importance and influence of cultural heritage on modern society.
