IV International Scientific and Practical Conference "Current Issues in Pharmacology: From Drug Development to Rational Use"

The group of professors and teaching staff of SKMA actively participated in the work of the IV International Scientific and Practical Conference "Current Issues in Pharmacology: From Drug Development to Rational Use" held at Bukhara State Medical Institute named after Abu Ali ibn Sina, Bukhara, Uzbekistan on October 26-27, 2023.

Conference participants included renowned specialists in the field of pharmacy and medicine from Kazakhstan, Russia, Kyrgyzstan, Ukraine, China, Tajikistan, as well as representatives of medical universities and pharmaceutical companies in Uzbekistan.

In her opening remarks at the conference on behalf of the SKMA team, the head of the Department of Pharmacology, Pharmacotherapy, and Clinical Pharmacology, Associate Professor Toxanbayeva Zh.S., expressed her deep gratitude to the university's leadership and team for the high level of organization of such a large-scale international conference and the warm welcome. On behalf of the SKMA leadership, a commemorative souvenir was presented to the Rector of Bukhara State Medical Institute named after Abu Ali ibn Sina, Professor Teshayev Sh.J.

The main part of the international forum took place in sectional meetings, where presentations on current issues in pharmacy, phytotherapy, pharmacology, clinical pharmacology, pharmacotherapy, pharmacognosy, pharmacogenetics, pharmacoeconomics, and traditional medicine were heard.

During the sectional meeting on "Pharmacology, Clinical Pharmacology, Pharmacotherapy, Pharmacogenetics, Pharmacoeconomics," representatives from SKMA also presented their reports. For instance, Associate Professor Toxanbayeva Zh.S., who also served as the moderator of this section, delivered a report on "Determination of Acute Toxicity of a Hepatoprotective Herbal Collection." Associate Professor Ibragimova A.G., from the Department of Pharmacology, presented her report online on "Analysis of Disciplines of Medico-Biological and Clinical Content in Educational Programs for Pharmaceutical Personnel Preparation." Master's students from the Department of Pharmacology, Pharmacotherapy, and Clinical Pharmacology, Kulbayeva M.M., and Turekhanova A.S., also presented their reports.

In the sectional meeting on "Pharmacy, Phytotherapy, Pharmacognosy, Traditional Medicine," the head of the Department of Pharmacognosy, Associate Professor Orynbasarova K.K., and co-reporter, third-year doctoral student in the "Pharmacy" educational program of the same department, Karzhaubaeva A.D., presented their results online on the topic: "Determination of Commodity Characteristics of Saussurea alpina DC. Plants."
In general, the conference provided an active platform for discussing current scientific and educational issues for both established and young scientists, as well as representatives from government structures and the pharmaceutical business from Uzbekistan, Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Ukraine, Tajikistan, and China.
