«Internationalization of higher education institutions: international visibility of HEIs»

On February 23-24, 2023, a seminar "Internationalization of Higher Education Institutions: International Visibility of HEIs" was held in Almaty at the Kazakh National Research Technical University named after K. I. Satpayev, organized by the Committee of Higher and Postgraduate Education of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The seminar was attended by the first vice-rector of the South Kazakhstan Medical Academy, Professor Marlen Yessirkepov and a 3 year doctoral student Akerke Auanassova.
During the days of the seminar, topical issues on the main directions of internationalization of the university and the issues of implementing the academic mobility program, and attracting foreign scientists were discussed.
Representatives of the US Embassy in Kazakhstan, the European Council and the British Council also took part in the seminar.
Representatives of the British Council spoke about international programs organized under the leadership of this organization, gave several proposals for conducting international exams IELTS, APTIS, etc., the coordinator of the National Office of ERASMUS+ informed about the ways of implementing this program and shared some effective links to the program.

Also, within the framework of the seminar, reports of representatives of local partner universities on registration and participation in the international ratings of QS, THE, and ARWU were heard. Local speakers shared their university experiences and answered the questions of the seminar participants in detail.
The seminar was productive and identified the main directions and steps that need to be developed for the internationalization of SKMA
