International summit «Academy of the 21st century: at the forefront of medical education, science and practice»
On September 6-8, 2023, the International Summit «Academy of the 21st Century: at the forefront of medical education, science and practice» was held at the Astana Medical University, with the support of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan and jointly with Ariel University, Israel.
The Summit brought together academic leaders and scientists from universities and scientific organizations from around the world to share ideas aimed at solving global problems and challenges of medical education, science and practice in the 21st century, with the aim of developing proposals for their solution, forming new initiatives, and exchanging ideas and strengthening cooperation.
The Summit program included plenary and sectional sessions, panel discussions with key speakers, lectures, master classes, and round tables. During the Summit, a forum of rectors, a forum of deans, a forum of young scientists with a competition for the best reports, panel discussions, and a pitch session of startup projects of young MedTech scientists were held.
The summit was attended by prominent academic leaders and researchers from leading universities in Israel, Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, Lithuania, the Czech Republic, South Korea, as well as heads of Kazakh universities and research centers, the National Academy of Sciences, the Science Foundation, and scientists who train medical specialists.
As part of the Summit, master classes and round tables were held on digital learning, Big Data in Medicine, women's leadership in academia, the development of pharmaceutical clusters, and drug supply issues. Also within the framework of the program, meetings were held with organizations that finance scientific research in Kazakhstan, visits to universities and scientific laboratories, and an exhibition of scientific achievements in the field of medicine.
