International internship within the framework of the overseas study program of the Alliance of Asian Universities (AUA) and the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (IIT Bombay)

July 3-7, 2023, students of the South Kazakhstan Medical Academy, doctoral student of the 3rd academic year Auanassova Akerke and intern of the 7th year Irisbayev Baurzhan took part in the foreign study program of the Alliance of Asian Universities (AUA) and the Bombay Indian Institute of Technology (IIT Bombay) (India, Mumbai) «Systems biology: a quantitative way to combat diseases for a futuristic public health system». The course was attended by undergraduate, graduate and doctoral students from Kazakhstan, Turkey, Malaysia, Sri Lanka, Indonesia, Thailand and India, studying at the junction of specialties medicine, biology and engineering.
Systems biology is an interesting interdisciplinary and quantitative approach that provides systematic approaches to understanding various biological patterns and paves the way for the development of personalized strategies for the treatment of various diseases to create a futuristic healthcare system in the future.

During the course, various aspects of systems biology, therapeutic measures were considered, and it was also discussed in detail how systems biology can help to understand certain complex patterns (for example, new therapeutic developments in the fight against cancer, maintaining the viability of stem cells and controlling the dynamics of their development).
According to the program, a collaboration was held between participants from different countries and projects were heard. As a result of the collaboration, the participants exchanged experiences with each other, shared different views on the implementation of the project, and also got acquainted with the culture of different countries.
