International Conference «Trinity of Nursing: Clinical Practice, Research and Education»

The SKMA team represented by the head of the Department of Emergency Medicine and Nursing, c.m.s., docent Seidakhmetova Aizat Ashimkhanovna and assistants of the department Khojakulova Umida Abdyvalyevna, Auyezkhankyzy Dana, Yunusmetov Eldor Shavkatovich, second year master students of study of the educational program «Nursing» Ibragimova Kumushbegim and Kenesbek Diana within the AccelED project - « Accelerating Master and PhD level nursing education development in the higher education system in Kazakhstan» took part in the Final Conference at Astana Medical University from November 9 to 10, 2023, which was co-financed by the EU through Erasmus+ and implements innovative projects to increase the potential and reform higher education.
On the first day of the conference, the head of the Department of Emergency Medicine and Nursing, c.m.s., docent Seidakhmetova Aizat Ashimkhanovna and assistant of the Department Khojakulova Umida Abdyvalyevna made presentations from the SKMA team.

Aizat Ashimkhanovna in the report «Formation of professional competencies based on scientific research» told on the example of the SKMA about the introduction and use of modern educational, simulation technologies, about changes in the master's degree curricula: the topics of qualitative research, systematic review, service design; bachelor's degree: the theories of Kolkaba, Erickson, Orem, keeping a reflective diary, writing essay. Using the Trello board, Summary platforms, CINAHL Database, ATLAS.ti, books were purchased.
Umida Abdyvalyevna, making a report, «Qualitative research in nursing: problems, barriers in Kazakhstan», focused on the importance of conducting and the role of qualitative research, barriers, problems and ways to solve them. Prospects and further development of qualitative research in nursing in Kazakhstan were considered.
The next day, Kumushbegim Ibragimova and Kenesbek Diana presented the interim results of their master's theses on the topics «Quality of life of patients who have suffered pneumonia, «Characteristics of the nursing care system for patients with intestinal stoma», respectively. Master students shared their experience and impressions of working in the ATLAS.ti platform, thanks to which they acquired the skills of questioning, interviewing, coding, collecting and analysing patient data.
During the conference, partners from European and Kazakh universities, representatives of practical healthcare discussed topical issues in nursing, ways to solve problems, exchanged experience and ideas.

Following the results of the conference, a resolution was adopted by Jurate Macijauskiene, Coordinator of the AccelED project, Lithuanian University of Health Sciences and Vitaly Viktorovich Koykov, Vice-Rector for Research and Strategic Development, Astana Medical University.
