International conference of family doctors "Actual problems of organization and clinical practice in PHC"

April 25-26, 2018, Almaty, Kazakhstan

On April 25-26, 2018, the Association of Family Physicians of Kazakhstan (ASVK) was held a jubilee international conference of family doctors dedicated to the 20th anniversary of ASVK and the 40th anniversary of the Alma-Ata Declaration. 

At the conference were discussed the most urgent problems of primary health care in the light of evidence-based medicine and achievements of family medicine.

The program included reports and lectures on clinical sections on various diseases.

Was attended by about 400 persons: rural and urban, general practitioners, internists, pediatricians, nurses were primary health care, teachers of medical universities and colleges, research centers, Kazakh policy makers, family doctors from Russia, Ukraine, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, the United States, the United Kingdom, Central Asia, representatives of the World Organization of Family Doctors (Wonca), WHO, the leadership of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the RCRC.

The conference was held for 2 days - a plenary session, panel discussions in 3 directions - evidence-based statistics, infection control, myths and evidence-based medicine, introduction of new approaches to diagnosis and treatment of pulmonary tuberculosis in PHC organizations, press conferences and clinical sections in 5 directions, educational section.

On the section of education from SKMA head of the department of GP-2 Doctor medical Sciences and professor Dossybayeva Gulzhan Nurbekovna made a presentation "Postgraduate education of the GP of Southern Kazakhstan: achievement and problems". The problems raised in training general practitioners, their quality of education, the relevance, employment of GPs, is one of the important problems not only for Kazakhstan, but also for Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan.
