INTERNATIONAL ACADEMIC MOBILITY

At the Department of Pharmaceutical and Toxicological Chemistry, the academic mobility of Zhuravel Irina Alexandrovna, Doctor of Chemical Sciences, Professor, Head of the Department of General Chemistry of the National Pharmaceutical University of Ukraine (Kharkiv, Ukraine) was completed.
As part of the implementation of the programs of the Memorandum between the two universities, Irina Aleksandrovna took part in the educational process with students of the 5th year of the specialty 6B10106 "Pharmacy": she gave lectures, participated in laboratory classes and IWST in the discipline "Bioanalytical chemistry and toxicology" online.

The program of the academic mobility course was presented at a high level, combining academic traditions and the warmth of live communication with the audience.

Professor Zhuravel I.A. dwelled in detail on the toxicological effects of drugs of natural and synthetic origin: teratogenic, mutagenic and other side effects on the example of the use of heroin, cocaine before the thalidomide tragedy. She showed illustrative examples of doping control of anabolic androgenic steroid hormones using dispersion liquid-liquid extraction, liquid-liquid microextraction, preliminary and confirmatory methods in accordance with the recommendations of the International Association of Toxicologists. When conducting laboratory classes, she participated in the incoming and outgoing control of students' knowledge, assessed practical skills in doping analysis of anabolic androgenic steroids and interpretation of the results.

Such a rich and fruitful program of academic mobility contributed to the further formation of professional competencies and final learning outcomes in the field of quality control of medicines and chemical-toxicological studies of xenobiotics.

At the final lesson, the students expressed their deep gratitude to Irina Alexandrovna for her professionalism and communication skills.
