«Improving the quality of training of medical specialists in demand in the labor market»
On January 25, 2024, South Kazakhstan Medical Academy JSC hosted a round table on the topic: "Improving the quality of training of medical specialists in demand in the labor market." The organizers of the round table are the Dean's Office of the Faculty of Medicine, the Dean's Office of Internship and graduate Employment, the Dean's Office of Residency, the Department of Scientific and Clinical Work, doctoral and Master's degrees, Faculty of Continuous Professional Development and the management of JSC SKMA. More than 178 people took part in the round table, including representatives of the practical healthcare of Shymkent, Turkestan region and the management of SKMA JSC, as well as the teaching staff (offline) and representatives of the practical healthcare of Pavlodar, Atyrau, Kyzyl-Orda, North Kazakhstan and Zhambyl regions (online).
The purpose of the round table - improving the quality of medical education through integration with science and practice in modern conditions, joint development of the OP taking into account the requests of employers and the needs of the labor market, as well as interaction on the employment of graduates.
The interaction of the university and employers is becoming an important indicator of the quality and reliability of the university's activities, one of the most important criteria for its competitiveness in the education and labor market.
The round table is a platform for the realization of opportunities:
• for employers: the opportunity to receive young professionals already prepared for practical work, participate in the process of their training and influence the quality of their training;
• for the academy: the opportunity to qualitatively organize the educational process and industrial practice, as well as further employment of the student.

During the round table, the issues of improving educational programs for training specialists of different levels for practical healthcare and the competencies of graduates necessary for successful work, as well as the formats of interaction between practical healthcare and the academy, with the help of which they can be developed, were discussed.
The participants of the round table confirmed the relevance and significance of such events, expressed their high interest in further discussion of the issues outlined above and their willingness to cooperate with the Academy. They noted that one of the conditions for high-quality training of specialists is not just interaction, but close cooperation of the academy with employers, that is, the coordination of actions of all interested parties, the presence of mutual understanding between them and the desire to develop a common vision of the situation. Following the results of the round table, a resolution was adopted:
1. Joint work with employers in all regions on the employment of graduates. Evaluation of feedback between graduates and employers.
2. Goals and missions of continuous integrated medical education programs and ensuring that learning outcomes meet modern health development requirements.
3.Continuous development of educational and scientific collaboration between the Academy and healthcare organizations to achieve concrete results.
4. Increase the opportunities for internships at the bases and the acquisition of clinical skills in the training of medical personnel.
5. Constantly improve the organization and implementation of educational programs in the field of healthcare with employers
6. Professional development of mentors in the training of specialists in residency
