“Improvement of educational programs and assessment of learning outcomes” training seminars

From February 1 to 3, 2016 training and methodical center organized training seminars for the teaching staff of the academy on the theme “Improvement of educational programs and assessment of learning outcomes”.

The seminar was visited by the teaching staff of the departments, undergraduates and residents.

The training seminar was held according to 3 directions:

1^st day - for internship departments;

2^nd day - for the departments of pharmacy faculty;

3^rd day - for the departments of medical faculty.

Total number of trained participants - 149

Moderators: the Head of TMC – A.G. Ibragimova, the Head of Nursing Department - A.A. Seydakhmetova.

The objective of this training seminar is to inform the teaching staff about the new version of institutional and specialized accreditation standards of IQAA (Independent Kazakh Agency for Quality Assurance in Education), revised in accordance with European standards and ESG guidelines.

Following the results of the seminar, there was developed a resolution that identifies the major challenges for improving educational programs and learning outcomes assessment procedures:

- before March 1^st, it is necessary to reconsider the training  results of module educational programs, educational programs of disciplines;

- within a month, it is necessary to develop evaluation forms (checklists) for individual disciplines (topics, sections and etc.);

- to discuss an effective assessment of learning outcomes during CMC;

- to organize a “round” table with employers to assess learning outcomes.
