DAY OF MEMORY OF VICTIMS OF POLITICAL REPRESSION AND HUNGER

May 31, 2022 by the Office of Social Affairs and Youth Policy students of the Academy visited the monument to the victims of the famine and repression "May 31 - Day of Remembrance of victims of political repression and hunger.

The purpose of this event is to present the intellectuals of the Kazakh people who were victims of leftist policies, to commemorate the starving in the tragic period in the history of the Kazakh people, as well as those who were forced to leave their homeland, and to assess that time through the eyes of a generation of independent country.
For many nationalities suffering from totalitarianism, the Kazakh land became a fertile habitat. Thanks to the dedication and fortitude of our ancestors, we were able to worthily pass the harsh criticism and unite as one nation," said President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev in his address on the Day of Remembrance of Victims of Political Repressions and Famine.

Academy students laid flowers at the monument to the victims of hunger and repression and also honored the memory of those who died.
