"DAY OF MEMORY OF VICTIMS OF POLITICAL REPRESSION AND HUNGER"

On 31 May 2021, organised by the Department of Social Affairs and Youth Policy with the support of the Students' Union, active students from the Academy visited the Museum of Political Repression in honour of "31 May - Day of Remembrance of Victims of Political Repression and Famine".

The purpose of this event is to provide information about the intelligentsia of the Kazakh people who were victims of wrong policies during a tragic period in the history of the Kazakh people, to teach them to respect and remember their names, and to appreciate that time through the eyes of independent.

This year marks the 84th anniversary of the beginning of mass political repression and the 89th anniversary of the Great Famine. Remembering the victims of political repression is the sacred duty of every citizen of independent Kazakhstan.

Academy students learned about our history, the events of the turbulent years, the names of innocent victims, the democratic work of the Kazakh intelligentsia and the cultural values of the nation, and watched a video about the cruel times. We left the museum, went to the monument to the victims of famine and repression, laid flowers and read the Koran to the souls of the dead.
