An open lesson of the department "General Practitioner – 1" using a standardized patient method
On October 27, 2023 Baimakova G. Sh. the teacher of the department «General Practitioner–1» conducted a practical lesson for Intern-doctors on the topic "Immunoprophylaxis" in the Practical skills Center.
The practical lesson attended by the head of the department, PhD, associate professor Datkaeva G.M., methodologist of the Educational and methodological center Rasheva B. M., Aldabergenova G., instructors of the Practical Skills Center Omarova G. S., Seitbekova A. A.
During the practical lesson the main purpose of immunoprophylaxis was revealed - preventive vaccination against infectious diseases is by far the most effective and safe way to prevent or limit the occurrence of pathology.
Immunoprophylaxis of infectious diseases is a system of government measures implemented to prevent, limit and eliminate the spread of infectious diseases through preventive vaccinations.
Performing clinical tasks with the help of a joint venture is included in the curriculum and takes the form of modeling medical care and demonstrating practical skills.
Intern-doctors during the demonstration of the clinical scenario of the joint venture - collecting anamnesis from the mother of the child who came to see a therapist, general examination of the child (checking skin color, development of fat deposits, size of lymph nodes, reflexes in the child in accordance with age), conducting an anthropometric examination of the child (determining height, weight, head and chest size) and the technique of hand washing in the vaccination room allows you to explain and fully master the algorithm of Intern-doctor actions when demonstrating needlework techniques, as well as filling out the necessary documents.
At the end of the lesson, the head of the department, G. M. Datkaeva, noted the relevance of the problem of immunoprophylaxis in the Republic of Kazakhstan. In the scope of the lesson topic, students, the methodologist of the Educational and methodological department Rasheva B. M., the instructor of the Practical Skills Center Omarova G. S. shared their opinions and assessed the open lesson.
The standardized method of the patient's clinical scenario also contributes to the formation of students' communication skills and allows optimizing the educational and methodological process, which is the most important task of modern medical education.
During the open lesson, Intern-doctors took an active part and were able to reveal the topic. All participants noted a high methodological level of preparation in the organization of an open lesson and an excellent level of manifestation of communicative and practical skills in conducting clinical scenarios using the joint venture.
