Аccelerated methods of teaching

On October 28, 2015 the teachers of the Foreign Languages Department Zh. S. Makhanova, G. O. Alipbaeva, B.P. Absattarova conducted the workshop on the theme «Аccelerated methods of teaching». The teachers demonstrated a variety of teaching methods such as «Brainstorming», «Сase method» and «Тhink, pair and share».  Each method was introduced in pairs and groups with different visual aids prepared by teachers.

The method «Brainstorming» was used to develop the student’s thinking skills. The teachers took active part in a game «Apple tree». According to the game’s rule, the participants were divided into two groups, each participant went to the blackboard and chose one task from an apple tree. The members of that subgroup worked together to fulfill the task.  That of the subgroup who completed the tasks correctly and being first achieved an apple on the top of the tree and became a winner. 

In «Case method» participants were also divided into two groups. They were given the cards with some words. Then they made up the story using those words. This method develops student’s thinking, writing and reading skills. 

The game «Tasks in a hat» was conducted according to the method «Think, pair and share». A participant took a card with the word from the hat and described it to another participant.

The guests from the different departments, including Dr. L. D Zholymbekova were invited to the workshop.
