ACADEMIC MOBILITY BASED ON FOREIGN PARTNER UNIVERSITIES

The faculty of the Department of Pharmaceutical and Toxicological Chemistry has completed an academic mobility program based on the I.K. Akhunbaev Kyrgyz State Medical Academy.
Professor S.K. Ordabaeva's program involved delivering lectures and webinars on the standardization and quality control of medicinal products. The lectures covered topics such as methods of pharmaceutical analysis of medicinal substances, aromatic, alicyclic, steroid, and heterocyclic derivatives.

The lecturer extensively discussed the methods of obtaining biologically active compounds from natural sources, as well as the synthesis of medicinal drugs, highlighting the issues of drug purity. Various types of pharmaceutical analysis for the standardization of medicinal substances and finished dosage forms were explored, including modern physicochemical methods for identification, purity analysis, and quantitative determination of medicinal products. The audience was also interested in both pharmacopoeial and alternative methods of quantitative determination. Requirements of the Pharmacopoeia of the European Economic Union countries, as well as international standards implemented in pharmaceutical enterprises, were also addressed.Associate Professor A.D. Serikbaeva acquainted the audience with the problems of chemical and toxicological analysis of substances isolated from biological materials through extraction and sorption. The audience listened to lectures on methods of isolating medicinal poisons and pesticides from various research objects, taking into account the nature of the object and the results of preliminary studies. Optimal methods for preliminary and confirmatory analysis and identification were also discussed. Additionally, the types of accompanying documents, research objects, modern sample preparation methods, and interpretation of the obtained results of chemical and toxicological analysis were addressed.

The online lectures and webinars were attended by students from the 3rd and 4th years of the Faculty of Pharmacy, as well as residents, postgraduates, and teachers under the guidance of the head of the Department of Pharmacognosy and Medicinal Chemistry, A.Zh. Murtalievа, who expressed gratitude on behalf of the leadership of KGMA for the interesting topics, vibrant and informative presentations, and pedagogical skills of the YUKMA instructors.
