Academic mobility as one of the directions for cooperation between universities
From 28.11.22 to 09.12.22, the heads of the Department of Pharmacognosy, Botany and Technology of Phytopreparations of the Pyatigorsk Medical and Pharmaceutical Institute, Doctor of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Professor Konovalov Dmitry and from 05.12.22 to 09.12.22 Head of the Department of Pharmacognosy of the Tashkent Pharmaceutical Institute, Doctor of Chemical Sciences, Associate Professor Farmanova Nodira were invited to SKMA within the framework of academic mobility.
The program of academic mobility includes conducting laboratory classes, independent work of students with a teacher and acceptance of midterm control by students of the 3rd, 4th, 5th and accelerated 2nd year of the educational program "Pharmacy" and students of the 3rd year of the educational program "Technology of Pharmaceutical Production", participation in interim student report on project-based learning (PBL), as well as participation in the annual international scientific conference.
Laboratory classes were held on the topics "Analysis of medicinal plant materials containing phenolic compounds", "Analysis of medicinal plant materials containing alkloids", "Analysis of medicinal plant materials containing flavonoids and their glycosides", "Analysis of medicinal plant materials containing anthracene derivatives", "Analysis of medicinal plant materials containing tannins", as well as lectures and practical exercises during which a complete analysis and study of topics were made.
Methods of pharmacognostic analysis of medicinal plant raw materials (MPR) were discussed, laboratory experiments were also carried out in small groups.
The lecturers held discussions about the methods of isolating biologically active substances (BAS) from MPRS, as well as their identification. We stopped at the physicochemical properties, accumulation and significance of biologically active substances in plant life. The audience was extremely interested and was able to emphasize a lot of useful information for themselves.
Since the beginning of the new academic year, project-oriented learning has been introduced in order to increase scientific interest. Konovalov D. and Farmanova N. listened to the interim report of students on the results of PET and asked interested questions, the students were very useful advice and recommendations from foreign professors.
Konovalov D. and Farmanova N. acted as moderators at the sectional meeting "Natural Medicines and Prospects for Their Use", which took place on December 8, 2022 as part of the IX International Scientific Conference of Young Scientists and Students "Prospects for the Development of Biology, Medicine and Pharmacy". During the conference moderators asked questions and evaluated speakers.
