Visit within the framework of strategic partnership

In the period of time from April 18, 2018 to April 23, 2018, as part of the visiting-professor program the South Kazakhstan Medical Academy was visited by Polish scientists Krzysztof Waleron and Malgorzata Waleron.

Dr. hab. Krzysztof Waleron Professor of Gdańsk Medical University, Head of the Department of Pharmaceutical Microbiology, whereas Dr. hab. Malgorzata Waleron represents the Intercollegiate Faculty of Biotechnology of University of Gdańsk and Medical University of Gdańsk. Rector of the Academy Professor M. Rysbekov met with the guests.

Krzysztof Waleron read the series of lectures on current issues in microbiology. The following topics evoked interest in undergraduates, masters student and residents: "Origins and Evolution of Antibiotic Resistance 80 years of antibiotics", "Modern vaccines and technology. Perspectives in vaccinology"," Molecular diagnostics the way to personalized therapy".

Moreover, Malgorzata Waleron gave a lecture entitled " Edible Cyanobacterial Genus Arthrospira: Actual State of the Art in Cultivation Methods, Genetics, and Application in Medicine". This lecture was particular important due to the fact that it included the main interests of the research activities of Polish scientists.

The professors discussed with us issues of further cooperation in the field of training highly qualified specialists, the possibility of developing joint educational programs for graduates and research projects.
