Students of Sechenov university (MSMU) passed 2-week practice on the base of JSC «SKMA»

INTERNATIONAL COOPERATION OF HIGHER EDUCATION INSTITUTIONS AS AN IMPORTANT COMPONENT OF PROFESSIONAL TRAINING OF STUDENTS

Since 2014, the department of pharmaceutical and toxicological chemistry annually accepts students from Sechenov University (I.M. Sechenov First Moscow State Medical University) to passage the manufacturing practice "Quality Control and Standardization of Medicines" in the framework of the Cooperation Agreement between partner universities. So this year, a group of five students from Sechenov University arrived to passage the manufacturing practice "Quality control and standardization of medicines".

Students completed the program of practical training. When familiarizing themselves with the organization and equipment of the workplace, the trainees noted the presence of all the conditions for performing the tasks of quality control of medicines.

Students got acquainted with the regulatory documents regulating the quality control of medicines in the Republic of Kazakhstan, listened a lecture on "Pharmacopoeia requirements for quality, efficacy and safety of medicines".

The program of practice included such sections of pharmaceutical analysis as General Pharmacopoeia methods of physical, chemical and physic-chemical analysis, Pharmacopoeia analysis of various dosage forms. Students conducted a complete analysis of pharmacopoeias substances, tablets, capsules, injection solutions, ointments, herbal medicinal products etc., in accordance with the requirements of the State Pharmacopoeia of the RK.

1344 2

Students for the first time realized the opportunity to work with modern equipment of leading world manufacturers: the automatic titrator "T50 Mettler Toledo" (Switzerland), Fourier transform IR spectrometer "FT infralum-08" (Russia), spectrophotometer "SF-2000" (Russia), "Apel PD-303S" (Japan), high performance liquid chromatograph of the company "Sykam" (Germany), the device for determining the melting point "Mr 70 Meltining Point System" (Switzerland), ancillary equipment "Binder" (Germany) and other relevant instruments for the identification, quantitative analysis of active substances, definitions of physical constants, etc.

1344 3

Work on the dissolution, disintegration "Pharma test" (Germany), abrasion and strength testers "EF-155" (Germany), complete deformation of suppositories "Pharma test" (Germany) allowed the trainees to acquire practical skills in assessing the quality of drugs.

1344 4

The highly effective liquid chromatograph of the company "Sykam" (Germany) with the software "Clarity" was involved in the Pharmacopoeia analysis for identification, determination of related impurities and quantitative content of drugs.

Students were able to improve their practical skills in determining the authenticity and content of related impurities by chromatography in a thin layer of sorbent on a set of devices for thin-layer chromatography (UV cabinet, spray chamber, oven drying).

1344 5

Work on a biological microscope "МТ4000/МТ5000 Meiji Techno" (Japan) with the software "Vision Bio" allowed the trainees to consolidate the research skills of the crystals, size of particles etc.

Students conducted a quantitative analysis of active substances by titrimetric methods on the automatic titrator "Mettler Toledo" T-50 (Switzerland), which can significantly save time for quantitative analysis.

1344 6

The trainees performed a study of drugs isolated from biological material, in which the isolation of the identified substances from the biomaterial, concentration, subsequent identification and quantification using modern physical and chemical methods.

1344 7

Rector of the Academy Professor M. M. Rysbekov received a group of students of Sechenov University and handed them certificates of practical training and expressed the words of farewell and further cooperation with the leading University of Russia.

After the end of the practice, the students shared their impressions, noting the high organization of practical training, equipping the Academy with advanced equipment, the possibility of carrying out a significant amount of laboratory work.

The trainees expressed their gratitude to the management of SKMA, as well as the Department of pharmaceutical and toxicological chemistry for the opportunity to consolidate the practical skills of pharmaceutical analysis at a high quality and professional level. Students expressed a desire to continue this experience in the framework of cooperation between partner universities.
