South Kazakhstan Medical Academy students won prizes at the International Student Olympiad in Pharmacy and Pharmacology.

South Kazakhstan Medical Academy students have once again demonstrated their exceptional training by becoming prize-winners at the International Student Olympiad in Pharmacy and Pharmacology, titled "Medicine: The Path from Idea to Patient". This event took place on November 22, 2024, at the Bashkir State Medical University in Ufa. The Olympiad featured 18 teams from various regions, including Russia, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Belarus, and Kazakhstan.

The team, led by Orynbassarova Kulpan and consisting of 4th and 5th-year Pharmacy students—Nezvanova Yekaterina, Nurlybek Akerke, Yegeshova Aida, Galymkyzy Diana, and Ussmanova Rano—secured 2nd place in the overall standings. Additionally, we received a certificate for the best solution to a situational problem in pharmacognosy.

The competition consisted of three rounds: a presentation of a video with a greeting from the team and the university, a team solution of test tasks in specialized disciplines and a team solution of situational problems in five areas: pharmacy management and economics, pharmaceutical chemistry, pharmacognosy, drug technology and pharmacology.

At the International Student Olympiad in Pharmacy and Pharmacology, one of the key stages was the presentation of a video presentation, which was highly appreciated by the organizers and noted for its informativeness, logical presentation of the material and creativity of the presentation. The organizers also noted the deep knowledge, confidence and creative approach of our students, who worthily represented the South Kazakhstan Medical Academy at the international level. These achievements once again confirm the high level of education received at the South Kazakhstan Medical Academy and inspire students to strive for new victories.

SKMA students had a unique opportunity to visit the largest pharmaceutical warehouse in Ufa - "PharmLand". The excursion allowed the students to get acquainted with modern technologies for storing and logistical of medicines, as well as with the organization of work of a pharmaceutical warehouse of such a scale. In addition, the participants were presented with memorable gifts and souvenirs, which became a pleasant end to a rich and exciting excursion.

As part of the cultural program, the students visited the famous monument to Salavat Yulaev, which is a symbol of Bashkortostan, walked along the picturesque embankment of the Belaya River, enjoying its beautiful views, and also visited the modern center of urban culture "Art-Kvadrat", where they got acquainted with the cultural life of the city. These excursions became a bright end to the busy program of the Olympiad, leaving unforgettable impressions and strengthening friendly ties between participants from different countries.
