Representatives of the International Committee of the red cross (ICRC) arrived to JSC «SKMA»
On April 16-18, 2019, coach of the ICRC will conduct courses on emergency medical treatment for extensive injuries.
The ICRC regional Office in Central Asia, together with the red Crescent Society of Kazakhstan, with the support of the Ministry of health of the Republic of Kazakhstan, is conducting a course for doctors of emergency medical services and those responsible for organizing work during emergencies in regional health offices.
The international Committee of the red cross (ICRC) is an impartial, neutral and independent organization whose goals and objectives are exclusively humanitarian in nature and are to protect the lives and dignity of people affected by armed conflict and other situations of violence and to provide them with assistance.
The ICRC adheres to the fundamental principles of the International red cross and red Crescent movement, based on people's desire for peace and harmony and proclaimed in Vienna at the twentieth International conference of the red cross and red Crescent in 1965.
The ICRC carries out its operational activities in the event of natural disasters, man-made disasters or pandemics in the areas, which allows it to contribute to the resolution of problems, fulfilling its special tasks within its resources and capabilities and cooperating with the rest of the Movement.
The course on emergency medical treatment for extensive injuries is similar to the American course on life support for severe injury and the British course on primary care for injuries.
The coaches of the international class on rendering the first specialized medical care, the ICRC will train the participants to the methods of standard diagnosis and therapeutic procedures applied to patients upon admission to the Department extrana medical care to reduce morbidity and mortality due to extensive injuries.
The purpose of this course is to improve and strengthen practical and theoretical knowledge in the following areas:
• Quick and accurate assessment of the patient's condition
• A priority-based approach to resuscitation and stabilization of the patient
• Decision-making at the appropriate level of the health facility to meet the needs of patients
• Medical sorting in case of mass admission of victims
As a guide to this course, the Wiley-Blackwell guidelines for extensive injury care, published in the United Kingdom, are used. During the course each participant must pass a practical part in providing emergency care (airway and ventilation, shock, trauma to the head and spine, damaged limbs), and submit (via simulation) the diagnoses and therapeutic interventions (endotracheal intubation, cricothyroidotomy, stabilization of the spine with injuries of the back, etc.).
