PROJECT-BASED LEARNING AS AN EFFECTIVE TEACHING METHOD FOR DEVELOPING 21st CENTURY SKILLS

The modern education system provides for the active implementation of the project-based learning method not only in the main educational process, but also in order to form the professional training of the student. Project-based learning allows you to increase the activity and independence of students in project work, to develop the ability to work effectively in a group.
At the Department of "Pharmacognosy" in 2022-2023, project-based learning introduced to the discipline "Pharmacognosy" for the following groups of the "Pharmacy" educational program: B-PKА-01-20, B-PKB-01-20, B-PKА-02-20, B-PKB-02-20.
During the work on the project, students were divided into small groups and topics for study were identified. The task of each member of the group was determined. The leaders of each group were appointed, and the teacher acted as a project consultant. That is, active students with leadership qualities were selected as leaders.
The possibilities and practical significance of using these methods in the system of higher education are considered on the example of teaching students of the educational program "Pharmacy".
The tasks performed by the project participants (students) were distributed using the project responsibility distribution matrix. The Gantt chart was created to streamline project management. The diagram shows the work carried out within the framework of the project, and the timing of their implementation.
The students also received special consultations from Head of the Department of Distance Educational Technologies Shakhnoza Khalmetova on the use of the Trello board, a program that allows them to effectively manage project work, and used it in their projects.

Currently, the Trello board is one of the most popular systems for managing project work and workflows online. This system was created according to the Japanese management principle, based on the implementation of "just in time" and equal distribution of tasks between project participants. The board lets you add files, to-do lists, and more to make teamwork easier. allows you to do a lot of work. After receiving the program, students contributed their design work to the Trello board.

In the 2nd semester of the 2022-2023 academic year, students continued their work on project-based learning.
On March 14 and March 20, 2023, the department conducted an midterm report on the project-based learning program.

On April 13 and 14, 2023, within the framework of the VI-Central Asian International Scientific and Practical Conference "Pharmacy - Progress!" at a scientific-practical conference among foreign students Serikbayeva Merey, a student of the B-PKB-01-20 group, presented her work and was awarded a diploma of the II degree and nominated for the best presentation. A student of group В-PKB-02-20 Raiymova Kyzzhibek was awarded a diploma of the III degree. They defended the results of projects in the direction of project-mased learning at the international student scientific and practical conference.

On April 25, 2023, a scientific and practical conference of young scientists "Science and youth: quality of medical care and medical education" was held, organized by the Department of Scientific and Clinical Works, Doctoral and Master's Studies of JSC SKMA and the Medical University of Kazakhstan.

Conducting a final report, an interim report on the work done and a presentation at the department were presented.

During the final report, students reported that at the first stage of the study, a review of literature data was carried out and Scopus, Web of Science, Google Scholar, etc. showed that patent searches were conducted on the topic under study using international scientific databases.
At the second stage, students carried out macroscopic and microscopic, as well as commodity analysis based on the methods listed in the State Pharmacopoeia of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and determined the anatomical and morphological features and quantitative indicators of the objects under study.
At the next stage, students carried out phytochemical analysis and qualitative and quantitative determination of biologically active substances contained in medicinal plants. The method of qualitative determination was carried out using general group reactions and the TLC method. Quantitative analysis was determined by instrumental (IR spectroscopy, FEC), gravimetric and titrimetric (permanganatometry) methods.
All studies were carried out at the Department of Pharmacognosy and the Laboratory of Scientific Research of Medicinal Plants.

During the final report, the head of the department "Pharmacognosy", acting professor Orynbassarova K.K. and senior researcher of the laboratory "Scientific research of medicinal plants" Kemelbekov U.S. expressed their opinion and gave positive assessments.

Also, the project leaders are the senior teacher Ibragimova Z.Y., Abdikadyr N.M., Umirbek N.A.
