Practice at the Yntymak base
Medicinal plants are grown in Shymkent on the "Yntymak" plot with an area of 3 hectares by JSC "South Kazakhstan Medical Academy". The purpose of cultivating medicinal plants is to combine the theoretical knowledge of students with practical classes.
Since April of this year, on the basis of Yntymak, the teaching staff of the Department of Pharmacognosy, students of the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th courses, undergraduates and doctoral students have planted seedlings and seeds of medicinal plants. Also, medicinal plant species (calendula, mint, yarrow, melissa, chamomile) were dug up from the collection site of the Department of Pharmacognosy and sown on the basis of Yntymak.
About 20 seeds of medicinal plants were sown in the greenhouse, such as small periwinkle, potentilla erecta, purple foxglove, etc. Seeds of fenugreek have been sown on a quarter of the precinct area.
Students of the 1st, 3rd, and 4th courses in the educational practice of "Botany" and the production practice of "Pharmacognosy" were trained at the base. During the practice, students studied the methods of cultivation, care of medicinal plants according to GACP. We also got acquainted with the specifics of the specific rules for collecting, drying, and primary processing of various medicinal plants.
One of the goals set by “SKMA” JSC on the basis of Yntymak is to create projects based on these planted medicinal plants. The creation of a market for environmentally friendly products in the republic, economic regulation of the production of environmentally friendly products from natural raw materials, attraction of investments for these purposes will allow solving a number of tasks of socio-economic development of the Republic of Kazakhstan, as well as scientific development of the SKMA.
