Plastic Lids Contribute to Charity and the Environment

At the end of March 2021, the volunteer movement «Dobryaki Shymkent» launched an environmental charity project called «Lids Give Life» in Shymkent. Over the year, the campaign expanded to other cities, including Nur-Sultan, Almaty, Karaganda, Pavlodar, Ust - Kamenogorsk, Uralsk, Kyzylorda, and Kentau. The project aims to aid children with cancer and improve the environment. Plastic lids for drinks and liquids are collected, recycled, and turned into, with money from their sale going to treat sick children. Several trading houses, catering establishments, pre-school institutions, and schools in our city have joined the project. The department of «Hygiene and Epidemiology» also actively participates. Through the project, students and teachers at the department have collected plastic lids and delivered them to the designated collection point. For their dedication, the department received a special letter of thanks from the volunteer movement leader.
