Pharmaceutical education during the pandemic: problems and solutions

The international conference on the problems of distance education during the Covid-19 pandemic was organized by the Department of Pharmaceutical and Toxicological Chemistry.

The conference was attended by foreign partners of the department, who shared their experience in conducting the educational process in this difficult time.

Professor F. Shirazi, Director of the Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences, shared his experience in organizing virtual classes, scientific research and volunteer movement of students who helped medical workers and the public during the quarantine period in Tehran.

Ibragimova G.Ya., professor of the Bashkir State Medical University, reported on the results of sociological research among students of 1-5 courses to identify the advantages, disadvantages, problems associated with distance learning.

An interesting presentation was made by colleagues from the National University of Pharmacy of Ukraine - Professor V. Georgiyants, associate professors L. Sidorenko. and Bevz N.Yu. on the organization of lectures and laboratory classes in pharmaceutical chemistry and methodological work to ensure the content of information platforms.

Colleagues from Tashkent Pharmaceutical Institute, associate pro-fessors Zhalilov F.S. and Iminova I.M. talked about the advantages and problems of distance learning at the Moodle IP, as well as the role of in-stant messengers to ensure communication with students.

Much work has been done by the Department of Pharmaceutical and Toxicology Chemistry of the Academy for the organization of the educational process and industrial practice of students. To fill the content of IP Platonus and Google ClassRoom, syllabuses, guidelines for classes were reviewed, training cases were developed. The staff of the department prepared about 40 videos on the pharmaceutical analysis of drugs using the material base and resources of the department. In this regard, the reports of Professor Ordabaeva S.K. and the Master of Pharmacy Mirsoatova M.A. aroused great interest among the conference participants.

In confirmation of recent reports, graduate students at Aldabergen B., Kopzhasar T., Halilova E., Turgunova D., Bokenbai E., Aripkul A. showed video materials on practical training “Quality control and standardization of medicines”. According to students, this was an unforgettable period in their life, they expressed sincere gratitude to the staff of the department for the tremendous work done for the high-quality conduct of classes and practical training.

The conference lasted about 4 hours, forum participants from Iran, Russia, Bashkiria, Ukraine, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan and the regions of Kazakhstan animatedly discussed common problems, shared experiences, outlined plans for further cooperation and joint work on the introduction of distance education.
