Participation in the XVI Congress of Cardiologists of the Republic of Kazakhstan, dedicated to the 135th anniversary of S.D. Asfendiyarov

We are proud to announce that the team of our medical academy took third place at the XVI Congress of Cardiologists of the Republic of Kazakhstan, dedicated to the 135th anniversary of S.D. Asfendiyarov with participation of international establishments. The Congress took place in Almaty on June 6-7, 2024 and was attended by leading medical institutions and research groups from around the world.
A team of cardiology residents of 3 years of study at SKMA took third prize out of 11 teams of residents who participated in the XVI Congress of Cardiologists of the Republic of Kazakhstan
The main topics of the congress included:
Acute coronary syndrome Chronic heart failure
Arterial hypertension
New methods for studying cardiovascular diseases


The competition program of the congress consisted of three stages:
Stage I: Medical quiz
Included 15 questions of three difficulty levels. For each correct answer, points were awarded depending on the level of difficulty: 5 points for easy-level questions, 10 points for intermediate-level questions, and 15 points for difficult questions.
Stage II: Clinical case analysis
The teams were presented with a clinical case with five questions. For each correct answer, the first team to answer was awarded 10 points.
Stage III: Presentation of a complex or rare clinical case


The teams presented their cases for 15 minutes, after which the jury members asked questions and commented on the reports for 5 minutes. Resident Yakubova V.T. presented a clinical case “Multimorbid patient with heart failure”
Our team of residents, consisting of Iskakov N.A., Orazaly Zh.N., Yakubov V.T., Dosali S.T. and Zhakyp A.K. brilliantly completed tasks at all stages, demonstrating deep knowledge, creativity and a high level of professionalism. Their performance was highly appreciated by the jury and conference participants.
We express special gratitude to our academic advisors and teachers who provided invaluable support and assistance in preparing for participation in this important event. This achievement highlights the high level of education and research carried out at our academy.

Another achievement: a competition was held among the participants of the symposium on atherosclerosis, according to the results of which 2 of our residents Dosali S.T. and Zhakyp A.K. won training in Echocardiography in the context of Ultrasound examination of the heart.
