Interuniversity round table within the framework of the scientific and student society of universities

On October 24, 2024, a meeting of the discussion intercollegiate club for interns-general practitioners took place on the topic: "Formation of antibacterial, antiviral, antifungal resistance - ways to overcome." The event brought together interns and teachers from leading medical universities in Kazakhstan, such as NAO "Medical University of Astana," NAO "Medical University of Karaganda" and JSC "South Kazakhstan Medical Academy."

An active discussion took place during the round table, where participants shared experiences, asked questions and exchanged opinions on the topical topic of microbial resistance to modern drugs. Intern doctors of the department “General Practitioner-2” of group I-ZhTDK-11-23 Ziyatbek Ulpan and I-ZhTDK-01-23 Zhumanova Dinara presented a report on the topic “The impact of the use of antibacterial drugs in agriculture and industry on human health.” The report examined issues related to the negative consequences of the irrational use of antibiotics in agricultural and industrial sectors, and possible ways to reduce the risk of resistance in humans.

After the report, a lively discussion ensued. Interns and professors asked pressing questions regarding the impact of antibiotics on the environment and public health, the role of public health in controlling antibiotic use, and the prospects for developing alternative methods to combat infections. Issues of rational use of antimicrobial drugs were raised, which aroused keen interest and exchange of views. Participants noted the importance of joint efforts between different sectors - medicine, agriculture and industry - to overcome the problem of resistance.

Many questions of concern to both students and teachers were given detailed answers. The scientific director of the project, Master of Medicine Smetova R.A., also took part in the discussion, noting the significance of the topic for medical practice and public health.
