Interdepartmental Conference Among Students Dedicated to World AIDS Day
On November 28, 2024, the Department of Microbiology, Allergology, and Immunology organized an interdepartmental student conference dedicated to World AIDS Day. The conference was opened by the Head of the Department, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor Bibigul Tolegenovna Seitkhanova, who emphasized the significance and relevance of this event.
Guests of the Conference: Senior Epidemiologist of the Shymkent City AIDS Prevention and Control Center, Fatima Tynyshtykbaevna Abdieva. Head of the Scientific and Clinical Work Department, Nurlan Myatbekovich Daribayev Judging Panel: Fatima Tynyshtykbaevna Abdieva. Associate Professor of the Department of Hygiene and Epidemiology, Candidate of Medical Sciences, Sara Ustemirovna Eskerova. Assistant of the Department of Infectious Diseases and Dermatovenereology, high-category infectious disease specialist, Laura Lesbekovna Sarypbekova.
One of the key highlights of the conference was a discussion on HIV prevention among youth and combating stigma and discrimination against people living with HIV. F.T. Abdieva shared her extensive experience, provided information about HIV/AIDS transmission routes and prevention methods, distributed informational booklets to students, and conducted express testing for attendees.
Both international and local students and residents of the South Kazakhstan Medical Academy participated in the conference as presenters.
