“Healthy University” – the key to a bright future!
On April 4, 2025, as part of the “Healthy University” project, an event was organized and held under the guidance of Acting Associate Professor S.U. Eskerova of the Department of Hygiene and Epidemiology at the South Kazakhstan Medical Academy, with the participation of third-year students from the group VM-PO-02-22, for students living in Dormitory No. 1, located at 22/2 Zhandosov Street.
Acting Associate Professor S.U. Eskerova not only decided to oversee her duty in the dormitory but also to gift students an evening filled with knowledge, motivation, and a positive atmosphere.
Third-year pediatrics students actively participated in the event, preparing a comprehensive and interactive program on the topic “Healthy University,” dedicated to April 7th – World Health Day. The students presented videos, prepared presentations, and held mini-discussions on topics such as stress management, the dangers of vaping, and the consumption of energy drinks. During the event, participants shared their opinions on harmful habits and their own methods of coping with stress and improving physical activity. The students not only learned accurate information but also gained a lot of emotions through quizzes, physical games, and prize competitions in which they actively participated.
The participants were offered games that required not only physical activity but also cognitive functions. During the exercises (squats, jump rope, one-legged jumps, hoop rotation, plank position), students were asked medical-related questions, such as listing joints, bones, and hormones of endocrine glands in the human body. Another game involved demonstrating team spirit: a group of players had to pass through a hoop without breaking their hand hold within a certain time frame. In the end, the team of students won this game. Participants from various courses of our academy, from medical college students to interns, actively engaged in these games, showcasing their resourcefulness and quick thinking. The winners of the games were awarded prizes.
The event was a great success – lively communication, humor, and team spirit made the evening truly memorable.
The “Healthy University” project once again proved that a healthy lifestyle is not boring, but effective, health-boosting, enriching, and inspiring!
At the end of the event, participants expressed their gratitude to Acting Associate Professor S.U. Eskerova and the third-year pediatrics students for their creative approach and enthusiasm! The students supported the “Healthy University” initiative and concluded that a bright future begins with oneself!
