Folk healer of the XV century

On October 21, 2019, in the №2 building of the Medical College at JSC SKMA in honor of an outstanding scientist of the 15th century, a lecture hall named after Oteuboydak Tleukabyluly was opened. The opening ceremony of the lecture hall was attended by members of the Academy’s administration, faculty, staff of the bibliographic information center, as well as students of the medical college.

At the opening ceremony, the library employee E.A. Kuanyshbekova introduced the students to the book exhibition “Worldwide Recognized Healer” and provided information about the healer, his books and articles from newspapers and magazines in which he was written. In her speech, E.A. Kuanyshbekova noted that the book “History of Healing” was published in Arabic in Urumqi in 1994, and was translated and published in Kazakh by the publishing house “Zhalyn”, Almaty in 1996. Translators from Arabic are K. Elemes, D .Masimkhan. This book is a great scientific work in medicine, consisting of the own experiments of the great scientist, the healer Oteyboydak Tleukabyluly, who lived 6 centuries ago. The book “History of Healing” lists the healing properties of medicines of more than 854 species of plant and 455 species of animal origin, also about 430 kinds of names of human organs, more than a thousand medicines and 4,577 prescriptions for use were indicated.

The uniqueness of Oteuboydak Tleukabyluly's scientific works is his ability to combine the achievements of true healing art with astronomy, philosophy, psychology, ethnography, history and national traditions.
